    The result of the battle was a disastrous defeat for Italy and had to be extracted by the Germans. After the defeat, Mussolini tried to support Hitler’s 1941 campaign in Russia. That also ended in a defeat due to the ill equipped Italian troops. Italy then tried to push south and take North Africa, but that also ended with the German saving them. After this attack, Hitler would take precautions in case Italy might fall. In WWII Italy did poorly when up against the allied forces. Mussolini would try to take many parts of Africa but would be pushed every time until they got help from Hitler. Mussolini like Hitler also used concentrations camps and poison gas during the war. Eventually Italy would lose their small hold on Africa and pushed back by the ally forces. The ally forces knew that they could exploit Italy’s poor military and attacked Italy. In 1943 Mussolini finally was overthrown in Italy and was arrested. Mussolini was sent to a prison where he would of stayed…
