Most Ohioans know who John Kasich is, or at least have heard of him. John R. Kasich is the 69th Governor of the State of Ohio. Currently, Kasich is in the running for President of the United States. John Kasich is 9th at this current moment in the Presidential Race. John Kasich is, as Governor and running as President, a Republican. His political views are mainly Conservative Republican. He has been the Governor of Ohio since 2011. While in office, Kasich has passed over $5 billion in tax cuts. He has created over 180,000 jobs on OhioMeansJobs.com. Kasich has also created 330,700 private-sector jobs. Kasich was born on May 13, 1952 in McKees, Pennsylvania. He attended The Ohio State University and majored in Political Science. As a freshman at OSU, Kasich sent a letter to President Nixon. Nixon read the letter and in turn invited Kasich to visit the White House. Kasich then spent 10 minutes in the Oval Office personally talking to Nixon. At the age of 26, Kasich became an Ohio Senator after being a senator’s aide. After that, at age 30, Kasich became a Congressman in the 12th Congressional Seat. In 2000, Kasich ran for Republican Presidential Nomination but directed his support to George W. Bush. He then retired from Congress. In 2010 Kasich ran for Ohio Governor. Winning his campaign, he became the Governor of Ohio in 2011. I went on a job shadow with Sergeant Chuck Robinson of th Kossuth County Sheriffs Office. Chuck is the nighttime supervisor, which means he only works nights and is there to mostly help the other cops, if need be. The entire job shadow was a last minute ordeal as my original job shadow fell through because there was business and personal issues at Elbert Chevrolet that kept me from shadowing there and watching.
