In a neoliberal society the main driving force is competition, followed by other forms of liberties. Equality and direct democracy are the essential principles that the Zapatista communities espouse. The Zapatista movement is a counter force for neoliberalism; bringing awareness of the continuous struggle for indigenous rights.
