2 Is panhandling really solving any problems? Panhandlers will be seen on the sidewalks, exit ramps and on the side of the highway receiving money or donations from people passing by in cars. Panhandlers begging people for money on the side of the road does not solve any problems. They are not solving the problem that they are homeless or the problem that they do not contribute anything positive to society. They do not help themselves by taking money out of people’s pockets to help themselves. How does panhandling help people who are homeless? Panhandling is more than likely the only form of income for most people who are begging for donations. If they had other forms of income they probably wouldn’t be panhandling. Panhandlers beg people for money so they can survive. Ninety four percent of panhandlers spend it on food and other necessities while others will be spending it on drugs and alcohol “21 Amazing Panhandling Statistics”. I don’t know how anyone else feels about funding a stranger’s drug habit but it’s not something I’m ever going to do. I do not like spending my money as it is, giving it to someone who is too lazy to work for it so they are begging for it.
