    Have you ever been in the White House. Have you ever seen the president in real life. Do you know where he even lives. Well you guessed it the White House. The White House is where the president of the United States live ever known president lived there except president washington according to DC Ducks. But don't you want to know how the White House was built and how it was designed. James Hoban (the designer of the White House born in 1758 in County Kilkenny the republic of Ireland and died Dec 8 1831 in D.C.) was appointed to rebuild the house, and after the build President James Monroe moved into the building in 1817. During Monroe’s agency, the South Portico was constructed in 1824, and Andrew Jackson oversaw the addition of the North Portico in 1829. During the late 19th century, various proposals were made to undoubtedly expand the White House to build an entirely new house for the president of the U.S, but these plans were never realized. In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt began a major renovation of on the White House, including the redirection of moving the presidential offices from the Second Floor to the West Wing which was designed in 1933.
