    comfort me. It was the first time I had seen her cry in front of us, my mother was always brave and never let anyone see her be vulnerable. But I knew this time things were different. She was going to drop her baby, or like she liked to say “su tesorito” (her treasure). Inside the car I could see my little sister also crying, she hugged her princess blanket and wiped her tears. At last it was time to leave and begin our long drive to Humboldt State University. Our first stop was to drop off my middle sister since she wouldn’t be joining us. I had never gave her a long hug because we didn’t get along. But that morning I didn’t want to let go, she soon began to make fun of me for hugging her for a long time. We chatted before we had to hit the road once again. Driving away from her was like leaving a part of me. All through out the ride I missed the annoying little girl complaining about being too tight in the car or not having enough space to move her legs. After a long 16 hours of beautiful scenery we arrived to Humboldt County, not Humboldt State University. We had 30 minutes left and that’s when my panicking began. Everything became real, I was going to have to become a real adult. I was terrified, anxious, worried and just wanted to go back home and roll up into a little ball in bed.
