In the film Hotel Rwanda, the media had a significant impact on the events that happened there. Radio was used by the reporters, and that had an impact on the events there as well. Also, reporters there faced the ethical dilemma of reporting all of the facts to the public while putting themselves in danger, or not telling the public the entire truth to keep themselves safe. I do not think that there is a way to balance these responsibilities. During the genocide in the country Rwanda,…

Personally when I think of a hotel, I think of a warm comfortable bed, a relaxing time, and maybe even a complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately that isn’t what happened in the film Hotel Rwanda, which is based on a true story. Throughout the film, the nation Uganda experienced a genocide. This occurred because the president was assassinated before he changed the nation’s monetary policy. Following the assassination, the the nation’s divided social groups began to murder one another. “Why are people so cruel?” Dube asked Paul in the movie Hotel Rwanda, a movie based on a true story during the Rwandan genocide. This question was in response to the mass genocide that was currently taking place between the Tutsis and extremist Hutus. Dube was appalled at the actions of people and wondered how they could do such a thing. Hatred can be a source for a persons cruelty, it’s easier to be cruel to something you hate, than something you like. Cruelty can also derive from selfish needs…

From watching the thrilling movie Hotel Rwanda, I was able to understand more clearly the tragedy, horror, and frustration that went through all the victims or this catastrophe. Additionally, I was able to analyze how much nationalism was steaming of the Hutu population even before the genocide had even commenced. In fact, Paul who was completely against the violence of the Hutu militia had to conceal is true thought on the subject and go on living as if he were a radical Hutu. It only took one…
