Due to the rapid success of the affordable confection, Hershey decided to further expand production and soon saw a new factory producing chocolate in mid-1905. In 1907, looking for even further production line expansion, Hershey created the Hershey’s KISS, which were trademarked in 1924. Hershey introduced other items such as the Mr. Goodbar, Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, Hershey’s Chocolate Chips, and the Krackel bar, which kept the company alive during the Great Depression and helped workers keep jobs. In 1956, after Harry Reese’s death, the H.B. Reese Candy Company was bought and integrated into The Hershey Company. The H.B. Reese Candy Company was the first in a long line of candy companies that sold out to Hershey, which renamed to Hershey Foods Corporation in 1968. Those companies include San Giorgio Macaroni and Delmonico Foods, manufacturing rights to Rowntree MacKintosh’s products, Y&S Candies, Twizzlers, Dietrich Corporation, Peter Paul/Cadbury’s, and finally, in 1990, Ronzoni Foods.
