It's ok to say that being in the woods by yourself is no ones place to be. In the book hatchet by Gary Paulsen Brain was on a plane and the pilot had a heart attack. So Brain tried to fly the plane but he failed. He crashed into the water and does not know where he is. Like Brain he survived by his self. I don't think i could survive that long, but i think i could survive for a few weeks. The first reason why i could only survive for a few weeks is because of the water. Like the book said “ He was unbelievably thirsty.” on page 40. I would drink the water in the pond/lake but the water is dirty so i could get sick. And if i got sick i would not have any medicine to make me better. The second reason i could only stay alive for a few weeks…

This would make the audience to wonder, ‘how would a young girl survive in a desert?’ The harsh environment of the desert would create more tense than a Canadian Wilderness. Also for most of the teenagers, desert is an abstract place…
