The girl from the story was able to take time for herself to become a woman, whereas, adolescent girls want to speed up the process and become women now instead of growing along with their brain. I think that most of the reason that young girls start dating, changing who they are, trying to conform to who society says they should be and engage in sexual activity, because the media informs them that this is how one should grow and who you should strive to be. Think about Miley Cyrus and the hold that she has on young girls. Many children (my sisters as well) love Miley Cyrus and were addicted to Hannah Montana (created by Disney). Then as Miley grew, she changed up her hobbies and changed her passion a bit. These young girls were used to a young Miley Cyrus who played a goofy/fun role on Disney channel. Once she converted from Disney channel star to popular adult artist/singer, many of those young girls still followed her (which I am not saying is a bad thing). She is a role model so young girls, naturally, look up to her and in many situations want to be like her. So, they start dressing like her, acting like her and maybe even engage in other activities such as smoking Marijuana like her (I am also not saying that this is her fault).
