Cheap Flights to Dortmund Airport Dortmund Airport (DTM) is a small international airport located just 10km from Dortmund, Germany. Every year, more than 2 million travellers pass through this airport on their way to destinations throughout Europe. DTM specialises in charter flights and low-cost airlines, so it's easy to find a cheap flight! Flight and hotel prices jump in the summer months of June, July, and August, so we suggest flying in the spring or fall for the best deal. The winter months are beautiful in Germany (not unlike Canada's winter), but the cold weather makes it difficult to get around. To make sure you're getting the best deal on your flight to Dortmund, try using Skyscanner's search tool above! You can search for the cheapest month to fly to Germany, or even set up a price alert so you never miss a great flight deal. Getting to Dortmond Airport DTM is a small airport with only a few airlines offering year-round flights. Luckily, most of their airlines are low-cost options! easyJet, Eurowings, Ryanair, and Wizz Air are all represented, with regular routes between Dortmund and other European cities. Unfortunately, there are no direct flights available from Canada to Dortmund. To get there, you'll have to stop in a major international airport like the ones found in Munich (MUC), Frankfurt (FRA), or London (LTN). Germany is a part of the Schengen area, which means that Canadians can visit visa-free for up to 90 days at a time. You can also travel freely…

table eating dinner on a regular Tuesday night when suddenly you are lying on the road, bleeding, and can’t seem to find your family. This is what the citizens of Dresden experienced on February 13th, 1945, when the Allies dropped more than 3,900 tons of explosives on the city, killing over 25,000 Germans. This was clearly a horrible event in history as were the other German and Japanese bombing attacks, but was this tactic justified? No, the strikes on the German cities of Dresden, Berlin, and…

Beatles in August of 1960. Now that they had their name down, they had another problem. They had three guitarists and one bassist, but no drummer. This was a big problem because Allan Williams, who had connections to German nightclub owner, Bruno Koschmider, had offered them a position in Koschmider’s club, but only if they could find a drummer (Lewisohn, Complete Beatles Chronicles 21). The Beatles decided to recruit drummer Pete Best not only so that they could go to Germany, but also…

Working at the Salvation Army requires an eye for detail, a sense of organization, working well with others and more. Working there is not just accepting donations and throwing them in some corner until a truck comes and takes the donations on to the next stop like many may think when the name Salvation Army comes up. I worked at a branch of the Salvation Army in Hamburg, PA and the facility there included a store for the community. I was asked to bring in donations from the designed place just…

His family discouraged him from becoming a professional musician however, as it was not, at the time, a profitable occupation. Many of his family members worked for the church,…

Rolling Stone, “The Beatles’ first night in Hamburg, Aug. 17, 1960, was 20 years ago, to the day, since the Germans launched their first attack on Liverpool [England], when Nazi planes dropped bombs on the docks at Toxteth, Aug. 17, 1940. Rock and roll music was taken to Hamburg by the children of the survivors, to be heard in turn by children who’d outlived the Allies’ revenge blitz of 1943. Scorned by adult society as a force for evil and the work of the devil, black rhythm music out of…
