While on a steamboat in 1842, Carson me the famed explorer and officer with the United States Topographical corps, John C Fremont. Because Carson was hired by Fremont, Carson got to join him on his first expedition, as a guide. Fremont needed to get to the South pass in the rocky mountains, which made Carson the go to guy, thanks to the time of his life that he lived roughly as a mountain man. One of the reasons Christopher "kit" Carson was as a famous mountain was because in one of Fremont reports from the trip, he lifted up Carson as a great guide. Carson and Fremont later went on two more expeditions. Carson went with Fremont in 1843 to survey the Great Salt Lake in Utah, then he went even further west to Fort Vancouver in the Pacific Northwest. Carson even guided the 1845-1846 expedition to Oregon and California, but he then got caught up in the Mexican War. Fremont's original plan ended up turning into a militarized operation.…
