    Che: Part One was released on January 24, 2009 in the USA; this movie is a section of a two part film series about Argentine Marxist revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara. Che: Part One is titled The Argentine and the film shows the Cuban Revolution from the start of Fidel Castro’s leadership to the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista two years later. This film goes back and forth between the revolution, Che’s personal thoughts and the aftermath of the overthrow of the government. Part one was filmed in several locations in Puerto Rico and Mexico. These locations have some authenticity of the real story as the actual happenings takes mainly place in Cuba. Che and Fidel Castero actually meet in Mexico where Che hears Castro’s plans and decides to sign as a member of the July 26th Movement. Completely done in Spanish with English subtitles, the filming took 39 days in total to complete part one. Che: Part One has a 7.9/10 on IMBD and a 66% on rottentomatoes.com. Both parts of Che were screened at the famous Cannes Film Festival in 2008. Though more awards were given to the second part of the film rather than the first, Benicio Del Toro, who plays “Che” was given the Best Actor award in the Goya Awards in 2009. Part one was also nominated for the Best Screenplay at the Cinema Writers Circle Awards in Spain. Most of the reviews for Che: Part One were positive but some of them displayed signs of disapproval, calling it a “failure and boring”. All in all, Che: Part One shows one of the…
