    Muscular men with superhuman features is the definition of a hero on google. Even though superheroes in comics can be heroes, true heroes are ones who normally aren’t recognized for their physical features, but their actions. In The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, Darrel Curtis is considered a hero because he raises and cares for his siblings and friends. Darry can also be recognized as an anti-hero considering he slapped Ponyboy in anger. “Tragedy of college student, 19, left to raise her three younger siblings after both parents killed in Hurricane Sandy”, by Rachel Quigley from Daily Mail, likewise shows Zoe Everett being a hero because, like Darry, she also cares for her siblings after her parents’ death. To elaborate, Darry is also a hero because he tries to ensure that Ponyboy is safe and close to his family. This quote comes from the part of the story when Ponyboy gets home at 2 am and Darry and Soda were waiting and worrying all night."I reckon it never occurred to you that your brothers might be worrying their heads off and afraid to call the police because something like that could get you thrown in a boys' home so quick it'd make your head spin." (Hinton 50) This quote says that Darry and Sodapop were worrying about Ponyboy and that Ponyboy could have been sent to a boys home. This quote shows that Darry cares that Ponyboy is safe at home. It also shows that Darry is afraid of calling the police because he does not want Ponyboy to be separated and sent away to a boys’…
