Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain received 120 mutineers, who were brought into Colonel Chamberlain’s camp. These mutineers had signed up for three years in the war, but they disbanded their regiment because of the lack of men and additionally, these men wanted to go home. These men were sent to the colonel, under guard, because he was the only other main regiment. Colonel Chamberlain was told to shoot any of the men who were not willing to fight under the colonel’s own brigade. Colonel Chamberlain had to convince theses men to join his regiment and continue to fight in the war. Colonel Chamberlain’s famous speech to the mutineers truly displayed his character. Colonel Joshua Chamberlain’s speech truly revealed that Colonel Chamberlain was passionate, respectful and kind. Primarily, Colonel Chamberlain was passionate because he cared deeply for the cause that he was fighting for, freeing all the slaves and abolishing slavery. It states on page 9 of Shaara’s novel, “We are an army out to set other men free. America should be free ground, all of it, not divided by a line between slave states and free-all the way from here to the Pacific Ocean“(Shaara 9). This revealed that Colonel Chamberlain showed passion because he spoke from his heart. The words he used to persuade the mutineers were extremely heartfelt. Second, Colonel Chamberlain was also a very respectful individual for the Colonel said that he would be grateful if the men joined his brigade. According to…
2400 Zhiyuan Li Is the general will always right? In November 2014, China released a draft amendment to its Criminal Law, including exempting nine crimes from the death penalty. However, a considerable number of people almost immediately expressed their strong disagreement on lightening punishment for those crimes and asked for the most severe punishment instead. There is no doubt that there exist institutional and individual bias in promotion board process.” In order to have an increase in blacks as general officers, would be to (1) make the promotion board more transparent, allowing the members to understand the promotion criteria in which the board members base their selection on. they don’t have all the facts as to what it is. Plastic Surgery has two branches, cosmetic surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery. Cosmetic surgery main goal is to improve the anesthetic appearance of a person and reconstruction surgery is to help improve the function and try to ensure normal appearance. However normal appearance is not always applicable. In the US we don’t separate the difference in reconstructive and cosmetic which causes controversy. As a plastic surgeon there is a code…

I will also mention how Large Hadron collider functions and the link to our universe to this discovery. I will write about how society will benefit from these discoveries and if it really is worth investing in these operations or should the money be spent elsewhere. Peter Higgs named his discovery the god particle, the key reason was for the…
The Universe appeared in a defining moment of the past of all the matter and energy existing at present; It is an event postulated by the generally accepted cosmological theory. Astronomers are mostly convinced that the Universe arose at a definite instant, between 12,000 and 20,000 million years before the present moment. If it had a beginning or creation, would it be logical to think Which must be the work of an initiator or a creator? So many believe. Smoot said, "It 's like seeing God."…
Throughout the “General Prologue” Chaucer presents a vast majority of characters in the mid 1400’s to represent human's instinct of dishonesty and corruption. throughout all of chaucer's characters that he portrays as the twenty nine pilgrims, three in particular stand out to me because of their interaction with charity. out of these three characters only one exemplifies the true meaning of charity that chaucer is trying to convey, the Parson. during this time period of the mid 1400’s the idea…
He uses what is known as the general prologue for several reasons. To introduce the characters as well as to keep himself out of the line of fire so to speak. He uses his character, the Pardoner, to attack the hypocrisy of the church. Then, using an outgoing woman from Bath he attacks the sacred institution of marriage, otherwise known as the patriarchy. Most of what Chaucer writes we are not allowed to learn for censorship reasons. But it is known that Chaucer see’s wrong in the world and uses…

These words are unambiguous with regards to the Pardoner’s view of religion and God; he is evidently using his position with the church as a means to trick and deceive people into thinking he has rebuked their sins for personal material gains. Furthermore, he is only interested in exploiting people who cannot see through his dishonesty. The pardoner in The Prologue to The Canterbury Tales is consequently a fraud. It is his job to trade pardons to acquire money for the church as it was the…
