    The younger generations may not know what a wonderful person Paul Newman is but this is the reason for writing this paper about his life and established career. He is a local who shot to stardom and became a household name in both acting and business. I am here to tell you about his early life, his acting career, and the race car driver whom he lived to be. Who would have known that someone from Ohio could be so successful. Paul Leonard Newman, the second son, was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio on January 26, 1925 to Theresa (Fetsko) and Arthur Sigmund Newman. Paul’s father was Jewish and owner of a sporting goods store and his mother was a practicing Christian Scientist, but Paul’s uncle Joe gave him his itch for acting career. The young, good looking blue-eyed Paul started acting when he was in grade school and continue in high school doing plays. Paul had a very busy life before he turned twenty years of age. He was kicked out of Ohio University for unruly behavior. After being kicked out of college Paul had joined the military and spent 3 years in the Navy during World War II attending the radios. Paul had wanted to become a flier of planes, but it was discovered that the young Paul was color blind which destroyed his dreams of becoming a pilot. He then attended and graduated from Kenyon’s College in Ohio and married his first wife, Jackie Witte, a tall dark-eyed blonde.
