Now that we have seen both sides trying to persuade us why don’t we try to get to the bottom of this debate? It is true that some politicians that are not directly involved in politics can do well in the polls. George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, and John McCain were all was appealing because they were not direct politicians they were not Washington insiders or Washington mavericks. (Rove, Susteren 136-138) But by this logic we are proving outsiders, whether they are complete outsiders or have some political experience, can do well in politics. Using their own past experiences the political outsiders have in comparison to the past of the politicians that are running today we can start to assume that they will be able to handle a political office better than the politicians themselves. Because they can use their new perspective on the political world to change it for the better, Just as Mitt Romney did. He was a former businessman before becoming the governor of Massachusetts, was able to use his past experiences as a businessman he was able to help Massachusetts with their debt problem. So if Romney can do this with one state, which is to say someone like Trump or Fiorina can’t do the same for America with their past experiences. It is said that history repeats itself.
