Though science never planned to disprove theology, countless atheists and agnostics have used scientific fact as a means to disprove Christian faith. In the minds of many individuals, all scientists are atheists who are out to prove Catholic faith wrong. However, this is nowhere close to the truth about scientists in our modern world. In fact, many scientists are Christians or believe in God and use their occupation as a scientist to further their belief in God. Albert Einstein, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, and Gregor Mendel are among the countless renowned scientists who believed in God. Unfortunately, the mention of the Church in regard to scientists often procures the name of Galileo who was persecuted by the Church for his belief in a heliocentric universe. This event is often used by atheists to prove that the Church despises science. Science, though useful, cannot fully comprehend the world without faith. What is Faith and Theology? Faith is the belief and trust in God that drives people to do good and follow his commandments in order to be with him in heaven after their death even without visible proof of his existence.
