    Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana’s ex mother-in-law, said of her: “In good times and bad, she never lost her capacity to smile and laugh, nor to inspire others with her warmth and kindness”(The Queen’s). So many people loved Princess Diana. She was compassionate to everyone. Although Princess Diana came from a wealthy family, her life completely changed when she married Prince Charles. Princess Diana was born July 1, 1961 near Sandringham, England. Sadly, her parents divorced in 1969 when her mother ran away with a wealthy heir. Her father gained custody of her and her three siblings. Her father inherited the title Earl Spencer in 1975 (Princess). Princess Diana lived closely with the royal family. Her sister, Sarah, actually dated Prince Charles in her teenage years. When they were younger, the Spencer children actually had play dates with Prince Charles and his family. Princess Diana proved that she was a hard worker when she left school. She lived in London with three roommates and worked as a nanny, a housekeeper, and a kindergarten teacher. In 1980, Diana and Prince Charles were reacquainted from their childhood years. After meeting again, they dated for six months, and then married on July 29, 1981. Princess Diana’s engagement ring cost $63,000. Her wedding gown had a 25-foot train that was the longest in royal wedding history.
