When I started music production, I did not know much about computers or how to operate the software that I purchased for three hundred dollars. Instead of letting the software become a waste of time and money, I studied every aspect of the software I had purchased and learned how to create my first track. The software that I purchased was Fruity Loops Studio (FL Studio), which is a very well-known software to most producers. FL Studio is specifically made for producers who enjoy to work at a fast pace and be very creative. Using this software and being able to visualize my creativeness, I was bound to be a producer. Eventually, I paid for more software to create better sound design for my tracks, rather than using the native VST’s I was given when I purchased the software for sound design. Learning all of the software that I spent my money on really boosted my music producing. I love learning new software technologies because it helps me become better at my passion of music…

January 3rd, 2015. On this day I chose to get a permanent reminder of an organization that had significantly impacted my life. To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit organization that works to help those struggling with mental illnesses, such as depression, self-harm, addiction, and suicidal thoughts. I was twelve years old when I happened to come across this organization. I can’t remember the exact date or what I should’ve been doing at the time, but I was browsing through YouTube. I…

Throughout the progression of human history, technological advancements have always been made at the expense of altering and harming the environment; so much so that one of the five types of conflict highlighted in literary writing is human vs. nature. One such story that addresses this conflict is Princess Mononoke by Japanese storyteller Hiyao Miyazaki. Although appearing to be a simple animated children’s tale of a boy thrown into a fight between spiritual beings and the human civilization…
A Special Place: Universal Studios After an extensive, torturous drive, Ethan finally arrived at his destination. He parked his large, black truck in the massive, congested parking garage and began pacing to get to where he was going. The moving walkways were packed like sardines with other people trying to get to the same place he was going. Once he sees the monument that is decorated like the planet Earth with the exterior spinning the words “Universal Studios” he knows he has made it. He…
Hayou Miyazaki’s film “Spirited Away” is immersed on the transformation and empowerment of the protagonist, a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro, while confined in a supernatural realm once her parents are placed under an evil spell and transformed into pigs. Miyazaki’s film takes a jab at our society by digging into what mankind has produced, and what a woman has to offer it, eliminating violence and encouraging empathy. Miyazaki exposes themes of feminism and human impact on the environment…

InuYasha the Movie: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass is my all-time favorite movie. It is an anime (short for Japanese animation) with romance, action, and fantasy. The second movie in the InuYasha series, yet this movie is animated from the manga not the television show. It holds so dear to me because it helped cultivate my love of anime. InuYasha tackles feelings of uncertainty about the future, healing after family wounds, how to move on from family addictions and loneliness. InuYasha…
