    In the classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexander Dumas, which is set in the early the early 1800’s Edmond Dantes, whose alias is the Count of Monte Cristo, is wrongly accused by his enemies of treason. Edmond Dantes is betrayed by four enemies who accuse him of treason, and he rightfully implements his vengeance. All of his enemies, Fernand, Danglars, Caderousse, and Villefort, deliberately betray Dantes in order to satisfy their own selfish greed, sending Dantes into a secret dungeon, dooming him to spend the rest of his years in a prison cell.
