On the outside, it seems that there is definitely something off about Seymour Glass. According to Muriel’s mother, Seymour Glass is dangerous and needs psychiatric help from past accidents and is very concerned about the safety of her daughter, Mrs. Muriel Glass. Although Seymour Glass has had episodes in the past, does it really mean that he is crazy or dangerous or just misunderstood? After returning from the war, “See More” Glass has definitely seen better days but is absolutely not crazy. Her mother seems very concerned for the safety of Muriel from the bad episodes Seymour has had in the past. In the beginning of the story, we know that Muriel and Seymour went somewhere together and Muriel’s mother is very worried about Muriel being alone with Seymour. Muriel’s mother then says, "He drove? Muriel, you gave me your word of--." Later on, Muriel’s mother goes on asking Muriel about Seymour’s driving and then asks, “Did he try any of that funny business with the trees?” Here we assume that Seymour has probably gotten into a car accident and hit…
