By this time it was around 11:30 and I noticed there were more people in the park than there had been when we arrived. We walked around Fantasyland for a while before deciding to go to the storybook boats. While in line for this ride I decided to interview Jessica and Olivia, the two people in line in front of us. I asked Jessica why she came to Disneyland and she said that she was in California for a work trip and that she thought it was the perfect opportunity to take her kids to the park…

A stereotyped character takes a general type of person and oversimplifies their qualities into predictable or clichéd types. Diana Wynn Jones did a fabulous book called The Tough Guide to Fantasyland that exposes many of the stereotypes found in fantasy writing. Such as the magical sword, the gruff dwarf with an ax, or that all elves must sing beautifully. Stereotype characters are stock and could be interchanged from one story to another without any major impact on plot. Although both…

For me, every spring break is characterized by a short trip to either Bald Head Island, or my uncle and aunt’s house in Georgia. This spring break would be different though. A day after Easter Sunday, my parents told me, my brother, and my sister that we were going down to Georgia. We were excited for the trip, as we are all trips, but we would be a lot more excited about four hours into the six hour drive to Georgia. My parents pull the car into a rural, roadside gas station, fill up the car,…

enchanting castle, and center of the park. I find pathways that lead to additional fairy-tale lands where fantasy becomes a reality. On Liberty Square, I visited The Hall of Presidents to view a show featuring every American president, past and present, in a fascinating tribute.
