The video that I watched was about Gloria counseling session with Fritz Perls and Carl Roger ( Perls and Roger Counseling with Gloria, (1965).The counseling session with Gloria was very interesting to me, it showed me many different ways a counselor can handle a client. I noticed the Fritz Perls used Gestalt therapy with Gloria. She was very confrontational and defiant to him. He was very direct toward her in the session. He seem to challenge her more. Even though Gloria was defiant with him, she was aware of the things that she was doing. She is laughing, half of the time too during the session. He began to challenge her body language when he asked her why she was moving her feet. You can clearly see that Gloria remind of her childhood. As a child she would sit in the corner and be stubborn. He pushed Gloria to the limit in so many ways in this session. Gloria discovers an aspects of her personality that she kept hidden, which largely dealt with insecurity, shyness, fear of not being equal enough. Carl Roger was gentle, sensitive, and loving with Gloria. She is more relaxed with Rogers. You can tell it in her body language and her tone of voice during the session. Rogers used an unconditionally loving nonjudgmental helped foster Gloria's self-esteem to overcome her shyness and fears of insecurity. She realize her fears and insecurities are based on defective perceptions/beliefs that that she will never feel superior toward a man. He moves quickly and continuously,…
