    Emily Grierson was once a very rich woman, constantly having money under the wealthy father’s care. The two lived in a rather poor area, therefore making themselves seem much more shallow than they actually were. Although the community disliked her father very much, others often thought of her to be a “sweetheart.” The sad truth, however, was she would abuse her money regularly and constantly refused to properly pay her taxes, much like her father.
