It was then that my husband came in and told me that the baby was having some trouble breathing because she swallowed some of the amniotic fluid while being delivered. I became very concerned and wanted to speak to her pediatrician immediately. The doctor came in and explained to me that this was very common for section babies and that she would be fine. It wasn’t until 8 hours later that I got to hold my baby for the first time. I felt anxious, nervous and sad but happy at the same time because…
all I smelt was a clean gown, all I felt was cold air as she waited for the scan to be over. After the scan was finished. I started to panic knowing that my legs could be shattered. The doctor handed me a paper and the paper stated that my legs had shattered, I had a consion, and a heart attack. I panicked the doctors told me to call my parents so I called my grandpa also known as Papa. I told him everything and how I’d be in a wheelchair for 6 months. My Papa came to pick me up from the…

Dr. Schell told her at that appointment her prior cervical disc repair had not healed and that he would need to go back in to re-do her surgery. Ms. Ostrander said that the…
The highly anticipated rookie debut of Ben Simmons will have to wait a little longer than we expected. Simmons suffered an injury to his foot that was caused in practice in early October and he has successfully had surgery to correct it. The timetable for his return has been pegged at three months (via ESPN.com). So, as bad as this is, it could be worse and we will hopefully get to see him play sometime in December or January. Obviously, this injury is a depressing start for Simmons, but it may…
The following day, Wesley and Amanada arrived in the reception room of the New York Memorial Hospital. It was eerily silent, as they were the only people in the reception room besides a young couple. The man was cuddling with his girlfriend, who had a cast on her arm. The red-headed receptionist noticed Wesley and Amanda and smiled. “We’re here with the Klein Agency,” Wesley whispered to her. She nodded, and directed them towards the hallway. “You can visit Mr Cornett, if you’d like. He’s a…
Thinking about my life, there is one moment that can be perceived as “suffering”. When I was 10 years old, during January of 5th grade, I was in the hospital for 3 days. I went there due to difficulty breathing through my nose, as well as my vision fading to blackness and me not being able to see. I was diagnosed with pneumonia, but I remember there being tests on my brain as well for some other problem. To this day, despite having 3 MRI’s since the hospital ordeal, I don’t fully know what that…
School Rebels vs. Teachers “Here are the tests, most of you did well, while others failed,” Mr. Krumpass announced,” especially you Shanae.” He said pointedly. “Dang you’re so stupid the teacher called you out” snickered Zach I gave him a cold stare, and looked at Mr. Krumpass expectedly, who is humming and avoiding my gaze. What did I expect? Mr. Krumpass hates me, he would be the last person to stick up for me. He then handed me my test., but before I could look at it, Zach snatched it from…

A 13-year-old male is brought to his pediatrician for evaluation. The parents are concerned after the patient’s swim coach noticed that the patient’s chest “does not look normal.” Upon questioning, the patient has no particular complaints. However, during a review of systems, he admits to some recent blurring of his vision, requiring him to sit in the front of his classes. On exam, he is noted to have a tall stature with long limbs. He is able to hyperextend the elbows and can flex his fingers…
Gisselle Pernett After going in for a routine checkup and expecting to have normal results, America Hernandez was being rushed to a hospital for a condition her doctors knew nothing about. It wasn’t until she was hospitalized that she was diagnosed with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, a rare condition that causes the immune system to mistakenly attack the platelets in her body. This condition prevents the blood in her body from clotting, and when this happens even the smallest cut can…
