During the 1970's a group of skaters called the Z-boys created a punk style that still exists today. The skaters were part of a skate team called The Jeff Ho Zephyr team that's where they got the name Z-boys. The start of Z-boys was in 1973 when Jeff Ho opened his surf shop in Venice beach California. The first Z-boy was Nathan Pratt when he was 14 years old.
