Abstract In this article, an analytical simulation based on a new model incorporating surface interaction was conducted to study the slip phenomenon in Couette flow at different scales. The velocity profile was calculated by taking account micro-force between molecules and macro-force from the viscous shearing effect, as they contribute to the achievement of slip length. The calculated results were compared with those obtained from the MD simulation, showing an excellent agreement. Further, the…
Two Effective Personal Characteristics One of the primary motivating factors for embarking on a career path in counseling stems from personal experience with the pain of addiction. The ability to truly empathize with the addicted populations’ experiences and pain is one of my most effective personal characteristics. While there is most certainly concern in regard to the area of compassion fatigue and countertransference, there is no way to teach the level of understanding that comes from having…
The mock care conference assignment and presentation was an informative and educational process for our group. After our presentation the group engaged in reflection together to discuss our learning, the challenges we experienced, how our presentation relates to our class learning and to celebrate our accomplishments. Our reflection will outline our learning and challenges, the feedback from our classmates and how our presentation relates to course learning. Learning & Challenges…
Double diffusive convection phenomenon occurs in situations where flow is driven by solutal gradients apart from thermal gradients. Present days in industrial processes like food processing, drying, chemical vapour deposition etc. the nature of fluid flow with in the process chambers largely governs the outcome. Thus research on double diffusive convection flows in relations to various applications in many mechanical and chemical engineering industries and also in fields like oceanography,…
The Value of Teams – Responses 1. The type of teams/groups which I have participated in the past and present, include the following: --> PRIMARY: • Family (and closest/best friends) – Everyone – whether he or she realizes it or not – is a part of at least one primary-type group. That primary group consists of direct family members, and even closest/best friends. --> SOCIAL: • In high school, I was a member of the girl’s track and field and cross country running team for…
pressure, Re (= ρU∞d/μ) is the Reynolds number, Pr (= μCp/k) is the Prandtl number, T is the temperature, d is the diameter of cylinder, k is the thermal conductivity of fluid, Cp is the heat capacity of fluid, ρ is the density of fluid, μ is the dynamic viscosity of fluid and U∞ is the free stream velocity of fluid. Lift and Drag coefficients are expressed as following: (4a) (4b) The lift and drag coefficients are combine effect of viscous and pressure coefficient. where CLV and CLP…
Chapter:5 FUEL CELL MASS TRANSPORT Introduction Basic condition to produce or generate electricity from Fuel cell is that, it must have supplied the reactants and removed products to avoid any interruptions So, this process of supplying the reactants and removing the products is known as Fuel cell mass transport process. Mostly in this Chapter we are concerned with the movement of reactants and products within Fuel cell. Various fundamental equations that govern the transport of matter from…
The Beaufort Gyre, a major anticyclonic circulation feature in the Arctic Ocean, hosts a substantial fraction of the overall Arctic freshening citep{haine2015arctic}. The large-scale gyre circulation has been directly linked to its freshwater content (FWC) via the process of Ekman pumping that converges relatively fresh surface waters and deepens the halocline citep[e.g.][]{proshutinsky2002role}. The Ekman pumping arises due to transient anticyclonic winds that cause significant gyre…

Two factors are required for proper operation of a gas turbine. One is expressed by Newton’s third law. The other is the convergent-divergent process. Convergent means approaching nearer together, as the inner walls of a tube that is constricted. Divergent means moving away from each other, as the inner walls of a tube that flares outward. Bernoulli’s principle is used in this process. The venturi of the common automobile carburetor is a common example of Bernoulli’s principle and the…
