    I learned that being an intern at Dutchess County Probation, the three main components apply to the job. The first component is a goal or setting a goal. Being a PO intern and interviewing the clients, I have realized that they need to set goals. If they don’t set goals, where do they start? They will have nothing to look forward too. By letting my clients set goals, it gives them a positive attitude, and helps them get past the tough times. For example, I was giving one of my clients a CSR (case-supervision review). This is something that is done every six months. We talk to our clients about a three short term goals, three long term goals, and their action steps which allow them to achieve those goals.
