Playing games for a living isn't worth those million-dollar wages, says Jesse Spector, a sports writer for The Sporting News. People such as firefighters, doctors, and members of the military provide more valuable services but earn just a fraction of what professional athletes make. The average firefighter in the United States makes about $48,000 a year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. President Barack Obama's annual salary of $400,000 is lower than most athletes' pay. Even New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has conceded that professional athletes are overpaid. The 2010 Super Bowl MVP has a five-year, $100 million contract with the Saints. "Unless you're finding a cure for cancer or creating world peace, I don't know if anybody deserves to get that much money," he said after signing the contract. This is especially true compared to any other job that couldn't pay a fraction of that amount for a salary. In episode 1, she goes off on her own, without telling Carter, in order to attempt to figure out more about the murder. Although this gets her into a bad situation, she shows the initiative to be a part. This proves that she does play a part in the storyline. She also carries a gun with her, which is not typical of something that a woman would do. Another very good example of a contradiction to typical male detective is the Nancy Drew Series. Of all elements that any story is composed of (characters, setting, plot, etc.), there is no true way to determine which is more important to the development of the story; without characters, there is no one for the plot to occur to, no one to occupy the setting. Without plot, there is nothing for the characters to do, the story is merely stagnant. but with no setting, there is no place for the characters to exist, for the plot to occur to-there is no available catalyst in which the story may…

SWA #4 (A Picture to Remember) The picture that I selected is the that shows three firemen raising a flag during on in the midst of one of Americas hardest times, September 11, 2001.
