Many theorists associate drag culture with the transgender community because the concept of gender performativity in queer theory implies that the theatrical performance of gender is a form of resistance that undermines the assumed connections among gender, sex, and heterosexuality (Butler 1990, 1993; Garber 1992; Muñoz 1999; Moloney and Fenstermaker 2002). They argue that drag queen and drag king performances are transgressive actions that destabilize gender and sexual categories by highlighting the social basis of femininity and masculinity, heterosexuality and homosexuality, and presenting hybrid and minority genders and sexualities (Butler 1990, 1993; Garber 1992; Lorber 1994, 1999; Muñoz 1999; Rupp and Taylor 2003). However, drag queen and drag king performances do not critique the…
September 27, 2015 around 7:00pm, my life was changed. That Sunday, I went to a Drag Show at Rick’s Café. It was such amazing experience for me. I have never seen a drag show before, but always wanted to see one. I was really excited when I saw a posting about it in MSU Spectrum Facebook group. Also, my friend told me about it, and he really wanted to go to the show but not by himself. Of course, I was game to go to the show with him. When I walked into Rick’s Café, it seemed like the same old…

Paper planes that are folded for long distance usually stays in the air for a long time because they have a lot of lift but little thrust, but they are meant to be thrown with a lot of force. Unlike paper airplanes, darts don’t have a lot of lift nor drag because they depend on extra thrust to overcome gravity. Also another way balance can affect the plane's flight is by having different weight on opposite sides. For instance, more weight on the back with have more lift but will land sooner than…
respectively. Roll commands were maximized at 17 pounds, except during takeoff and landing where the maximum was 12 pounds. The F-16 stick only moves a quarter of an inch in each direction. This movement was added to the F-16’s original design to help the pilot make smaller, more precise control inputs during takeoff, landing, or while flying close formation next to other aircraft. The F-16 rudder pedals also used force sensors that provided an artificial feel to the pilot. The force…
Assessment Task 1 A. IMPLEMENTATION PLAN Goal: lift distribution capacity by 20% Current resources: 30 employees - 1 business manager - 15 employees in picking and packing team - 10 in distribution team - 4 in checkout team Operating hours: 5am to 5pm Products for distribution: dry food products, chemical cleaners, refrigerated foods, fresh and frozen produces, cigarettes and alcohol. Strategic direction: • Increased efficiency in distribution • Minimise wastage in resources • Improved…
Specify the sources (causes) of friction. The causes of friction in this lab come from three different sources. One is the string sliding over the pulley wheel. Another is the pulley wheel turning on its axle. Also, the string sliding through the hole; all these cause friction in our experiment. Glider on Frictionless Air Track Lab The acceleration of the glider can be calculated by tracking the speed as it passes through the two photogates. On the frictionless air track a glider is placed on…
Therefore, the “history of public recognition of female masculinity is most frequently characterized by stunning absences” and “very little time and energy has been expended on the drag queen’s counterpart, the drag king” (Halberstam 231). The drag king, a relatively recent culturally recognized phenomenon is “a female who dresses up in recognizably male costume and performs in that costume” (Halberstam 232). The subculture of drag kings became most evident in the 1990s as a distinguished…

A drag queen is a man that dresses up as a women for entertainment purposes. People often confuse drag for cross dressing or transgender but it is far…

Drag is an opposing force of motion. Gravity: a force that pulls objects together, and the reason things on Earth fall down instead of up.
