For my presentation, I chose the song ‘Dear Mr. President’ by the American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress Alecia Beth Moore, widely known by her stage name Pink. Pink’s career started in 1995, and the singer has since released seven studio albums, five compilation albums, three live albums, 34 singles, and lastly 33 music videos. Additionally, she has won numerous awards, including three Grammys and one Emmy Award. Furthermore, the singer is not only an animal rights activist and supporter of same-sex marriage but also associated with various charity organization namely ‘UNICEF’, ‘ONE Campaign’, ‘Human Rights Campaign’, ‘New York Restoration Project’, ‘Prince’s Trust’, ‘Save the Children’ and Take Back the Night’. The song “Dear Mr. President” that introduced on Pink’s fourth studio album “I’m Not Dead”, features the Indio Girls and was written on Martin Luther King Day in 2005, but released for the first time in late 2007. The song is an open letter and a direct criticism of former President George W. Bush.
