There is an eerie, small town that seems to have come straight out of a horror story. This horrific town known as Deadman’s Paradise is always gloomy, sullen in the same way grim. It’s as if this town has never been visited by the sun. The only sources of outside light in the entire town are street lamps that constantly flicker. Most of the town residents stay inside their whole life besides occasional trips to the local grocery store. Any travelers passing by this town are given the impression that it is a deserted and sinister ghost town. The residents of this town are mostly normal but there seems to be a mysterious phenomenon that affects a few people every month. This unexplained event makes the victim speak in tongues while they scurry in an uneasy fashion into the cornfield located in the center of the town. Dominique and Maddy have been lucky so far avoiding this strange phenomenon for as long as they’ve lived here. Since they have not experienced this event they believe it is just a rumor. They’re a young couple that have been together for a few years and are madly in love. Dominique is a fairly tall man standing at a colossal six feet and four inches with a golden brown tan. He has light brown hair the same color as Maddy’s hair. Maddy has fair skin but is very short standing at only five feet tall. On one especially menacing night Dominique has to comfort Maddy until she falls asleep because of how superstitious she is about the unnatural occurrences that happen…

“Excavating Jesus” proved to be a unique blend of ground as gospel, as self-claimed in its introduction. However, after the engaging introduction, filled with facts and fun quips from the authors, the reader was pulled away from the goal of excavating Jesus and towards a textual representation of first century history that no longer focused on the historical Jesus but rather the historical Christian. Written by John Dominic Crossan, an Irish-American Catholic religious scholar, and Johnathan…

It doesn’t help to be oversensitive, but sometimes it’s hard to avoid it. “Literary intellectuals love to sneer at polls and surveys,” writes Dominic Sandbrook in his determinedly informative and frequently entertaining attempt to analyse what makes British culture tick, “but historians cannot afford to do so.” The survey being putatively sneered at reveals the immense popularity of The Lord of the Rings; presumably the implications of that popularity, rather than the fact of it, which must…

In his article “Why Has America Stopped Winning Wars,” Dominic Tierney incorrectly asserts that the United States is in a period of unwinnable wars and that, as such, the United States should plan for battlefield failure and “losing the right way.”1 He uses multiple fallacies to build his argument, including appeals to emotion, appeals to questionable authority, explaining by naming, and searching for a perfect solution. This leads to the conclusion that the US position as a superpower is a…
