    Whitney Elizabeth Houston by: Alisa Dettmer 6B Whitney Houston impressed me by her self-conscious as a singer and wanted to be a singer since she could talk. She became her dream. Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born 09.08.1963 in New Jersey. Whitney was seemed to become a singer from birth on. Her mother Cissy Houston was a singer. She was the choir minister at New Hope Baptist Church. This is the place where Whitney as a young girl started singing. Even as a small girl she was able to WOW the audience. Whitney did not learn the singing. She was born to sing. When she was around 15 years old Whitney was often performing with her mother and Whitney tried to get a record deal of her own. Whitney was discovered from a Photographer who found her very beautiful. Soon she became a teenage- model. She was the first African-American model to appear on the cover of the Seventeen magazine. Though she was a model she still wanted to became a professional singer. That was her true dream. When she was 19 years old. She sang in a nightclub where she was found from Clive Davis of the Arista record. He took Whitney automatically from gospel to pop stardom.
