    “Morning Morgantown” by Joni MItchells Lyrics that explain how a teen views the day? What more could someone want?! Joni Mitchell’s song, “Morning Morgantown” goes further with not only insight on a teenager’s point of view, but also proficiently made a song with a sweet melody and harmony, and musings of Joni’s own days as a teenager. I chose to use “Morning Morgantown” because I appreciate the artist Joni Mitchell, and think that this song is still relatable. Joni Mitchell has never specified where the inspiration for her song, “Morning Morgantown” came from but it has been speculated that it was written about Morgantown WV, because this town seems so sleepy and quiet. This song relays what happens throughout the day through the eyes of a teenager. This song can still relate to teens today because many activities in this song are still done. For example, going to school. “We’ll rise up early with the sun / To ride the bus while everyone/ Is yawning and the day is young.” could be about waking up early to catch the school bus. It is required by law that children and teens must go to school. Another example, “We’ll find a table in the shade / And sip our tea and lemonade” could refer to a date, or the fact that most teenagers enjoy going out to get food and drinks. Another line, “And watch the morning on parade” could mean many things. This line could be a reference to the magazine, Parade, that was founded in 1941, and mean that teens were avidly realizing what was…
