I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable and funny the play actually was. The cast was very animated and absolutely adorable! The stage was small and the audience was close around the stage which added to the enjoyment of the performance. The props and costumes seemed to be from the 1940’s and well placed around the stage. Pinkney who performed a dramatic, almost sermonistic style reading of a section from God’s Trombones: Seven Negro Sermons in Verse by James Weldon Johnson.
