goal. By examining the direction and pit stops that the characters from Easy Rider (1969) and Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) make we should be able to see how they progress as both individuals and teammates. When looking at the map provided you will notice that both movies intersect with each other very early on. Easy Rider has a brief opening in Mexico where they purchase cocaine (1), but they quickly move to the first location of Two-Lane Blacktop, Los Angeles. While the characters are in LA, they both happen to be conducting some illegal business that sets them on their paths to the Eastern side of the United States. In Easy Rider [ER] we see Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper) selling their cocaine to a man at LAX (2), while Two-Lane Blacktop [TLB] has The Driver (James Taylor) and The Mechanic (Dennis Wilson) participating in an illegal street race (1). Each set of friends is successful in their illegal dealing, with the Easy Rider boys making serious money and the Two-Lane Blacktop gang winning the race. These pit stops allow the characters move both themselves and the story forward, as the money earned allows the ER boys to collect their motorcycles and drive for New Orleans and the street race being broken up by the cops in TLB forces the gang to drive away from the cops. At the beginning of both movies, the two sets of friends work together like well-oiled machines, with the Mechanic and Driver in TLB communicating through brief bits of dialog about their car.…

In Easy Rider, the American flag appears greatly. This was a very patriotic symbol throughout the movie. The American flag often stands for freedom to many people, and I believe that is what Wyatt and Billy were searching for along their trip. Wyatt and Billy were the heroes throughout this movie. They were living the “American Dream.” They were different and were not conforming to the other Americans views. They were on a search for freedom. Most Americans during this time were not accepting…
Dennis Kozlowski has been accused of abusing Tyco’s profit money for personal purposes. The case was taken to court by SEC and jury was divided on the matter, having differing opinions. However, while analyzing the case on the basis of ‘Ethics of Management’, considering several factors such as moral impacts, economic outcomes and ethical duties etc., it may be found that Kozlowski has been at fault and should be punished fairly severely. Prior to July 1992, their net profit was $95 million, the…
Nighthawks by Edward Hopper is a very famous artwork that was made in 1942. The artwork features a bar on a street corner and appears to be the only store open at the time on the street. A man and a redheaded woman sit together on one side of the bar, while a man who is alone sits on the other side of the bar. The bartender is dressed in all white and is reaching for something behind the bar. The…
Edward Hoppers paintings always tell a story. ‘Office at night’ is no different. In the painting created in 1940, Edward Hopper leaves the viewer wondering what truly is going on in the somewhat mysterious situation. While some might only see two people having a regular night in the office, the many clues given in the painting leaves one’s mind wondering – is there something immoral going on? The open window, mysterious lighting, and the facial expressions of both individuals suggest a deeper…
