    Damien Memorial School, we are brought together by what makes us different. We learn from each others experiences, mistakes and even our success. We are literally like a “mix-plate”, so many different things in one, but it does not matter, because it all fits well together. We are all brought together from all parts of the island and even from other states or countries, kind of like how teriyaki beef is from Japan, and Barbecue chicken is from America, but it doesn't matter because it all goes well together. Most of the schools on the island have students that live near. At Damien we have students from all the way on the other side of the island, even though they could have gone to their own local school. The things that bring most of us together, is our common interests. Our interests build friendships and we learn to not notice or care about our differences. Mostly everyone will find someone with a similar interest, whether it's playing sports, video games, music, or really anything, we are all seen as one. Another thing about us, is that even though we are a catholic school, we have acceptance to any other religion, I think this brings us even closer because we can learn to respect each other in more than just a physical or verbal way.…
