She saw a big sign in the front that read " Whites Only" she often asked her husband "私は白の資格がありますか?Watashi wa shiro no shikaku ga arimasu ka?" (do I qualify as white?) And he as always responded "Yes." She was actually very excited to go the supermarket because she saw in the local newspaper advertisement that they would be selling "exotic food" such as her foreign culture's classic food; ginger, daikon, and udon. As she pushed the heavy half glass half oak doors open she immediately felt all eyes were on her and her son. She walked to the produce to try and find the new goods that the store was selling. While walking, she passed by a big double chinned white shelf stocker. She smiled at him and said a heavily accented "Good morning." The worker gave her a cold blank stare with his grey eyes in return. "They all hate me." She thought while trying not to bust out crying. After searching around the section she finally found a daikon radish. Now she could finally make real Japanese style pickles. As she walked she went through the process of making them in her head she soon found herself in the frozen aisle. This aisle always captivated her because back home everything was always fresh and not in a package.
