    Tom Robbins Trickster

Bugs has pulled several other tricks such as telling Elmer it is duck season rather than rabbit season so he won't be hunted. Occasionally Bugs will even dress up as other characters to cheat and deceive people to gain what he wants. He will do anything in his power to scam those for what he wants. Although the Giant, his wife, and Bugs Bunny are all tricksters, they go about tricking people in similar different ways. One similarity between the Giant and Bugs is when the Giant tricks Tselane to open the door for him. In a Looney Toons episode from 1952 titled, “The Wabbit Who Came to Supper”, Bugs tricks Elmer into opening the door and letting him inside. After Elmer shuts him outside, Bugs pretends to have caught Pneumonia, and then swindles him into believing he has died. In panic Elmer rushes outside and carries Bugs inside. Although Bugs did not sing a song to Elmer like the Giant did Tselane, he tricked him into opening the door. They may have used different tricks, but they both had the same desire. Not only do the Giant and Bugs show similarities, but so do the Giant’s wife and Bugs. In a episode from 1952 titled, “Rabbit Season, Duck Season” Bugs tricks Elmer into thinking it's duck season. After continually going back and forth saying what season it is, Bugs Bunny tricks Daffy Duck into saying “Its duck season, now fire!” rather than “Its rabbit season, now fire!” Bugs does this to manipulate Daffy so he can free himself from the situation. Just like how the…

existence and its circumstances. Individuals rush to concentrate on the negative and how things are turning out badly, however Mickey tends to concentrate on the positive. This is a key lesson for making life significantly more profitable. Grin – Mickey's splendid grin conveys satisfaction to every one of his companions. Dove and Duck hunting are two of America’s outdoorsman’s greatest pastimes. Dove and Duck hunting have always been thought to go hand in hand. Which is not surprising seeing as how everything from the way one starts training before the season opens, to the technique used to clean the birds preparing the quarry for the grill after an extensive morning hunt with friends and family, are near congruent. Although the sports are very much similar, each sport has its own benefits for whatever an…

Some birds appeared in the faint blue sky flapping and soaring. All were blackish-brownish with a touch of white. They were flying a yard or maybe two and they’re coming really fast. They went “ Honk, honk.” “Where’re they going? I said. Why would so many birds go in one direction?” “It’s a sign,” Jim said gazing with an amazed look. “ When chickens fly in the same road. It’s the same way birds would go. “ I raced over to the canoe, I grasped the gun, I got back to…

After reading several stories in Women Who Run with the Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés, I found two stories that resonated with me most: “The Ugly Duckling” and “Sealskin, Soulskin.” The former of the two stories is based on Hans Christian Anderson’s tale of the same name and tells of a homely little bird born to a family of ducks. The ugly duckling suffers much verbal and physical abuse from all of the other ducks. His mother defends him at first, but she eventually grows tired of his…

Types of Problematic Waterfowl Hunters The majority of people have came to the conclusion that most hunters are alike. This is far from the case. There are different types of hunters just like there are different types of people. It was a cold rainy day in december when I went on my first duck hunt. This was the most exciting day of my life. I had been waiting to go on a duck hunt where I get to shoot my gun. We loaded up all of our gear and the dog. My dog was getting old she was 10 on that hunt and that was the first time I got to see her do her job, and that was retrieving waterfowl. When we got to the parking lot we unloaded our gear and started the long walk into the marsh. The blind we had chosen to hunt was a long…
