She grabbed the pillow from her room and filled her canteen. She then ran out as quickly as possible. Once she was satisfied with her distance from the house, she stopped to catch her breath. Neighs sounded in the background, and Ponithea know she was done for. She turned, and a pitch black horse stared her down, with Elpidos on his back. In her panic, she transformed into a single cypress tree. She had never transformed into a plant before, and didn’t know how she did it. Elpidos turned to her and muttered “You will pay for this.” Ponithea was cursed to stay in this state for the rest of her days. In order to get revenge for this act, she would try to steal people’s brains to get her full conscious back. This has led to the superstition that if you lie under a cypress tree for too long, it will steal your brain.…
