She received her medical degree at King Charles University Medical School in Prague, Czech Republic in 1980 and her Doctorate in Public Health at Loma Linda University in 1997 with a specialty in preventive care and lifestyle medicine (“Zuzana Bic”). Consuelo Siposs is a supervisor who manages education at the American Diabetes Association Office in Irvine, targeting underserved minority populations throughout Orange County, primarily those who are most susceptible to type 2 diabetes (“Poor? You’re more likely to lose a limb to diabetes, study shows.”). Passport to Health is a type 2 diabetes management and prevention program, primarily directed towards those who are most vulnerable (minorities). It is distributed at clinics and community organizations; the program is comprised of eight modules that educate participants on multiple aspects of the program such as raising mindfulness of the disease, the repayments of physical activity in those suffering with diabetes, and a workshop discussing healthy food alternatives among many other workshops. There are also enticements to participate, such as being entered in a drawing to win special prizes.
