    The beginning of Crocs, which are known as leaders in the casual footwear industry, started in 2002. The company, formerly known as Western Brands LLC, originally formed back in 1999; 3 years prior to the invention of their star product. Crocs Inc. was formed by 3 entrepreneurs in Colorado where the company’s headquarters are currently located. Lyndon V. Hanson III, George B. Boedecker Jr., and Scott Seamans, were all successful entrepreneurs before they came together to form the inspiration of their iconic product of Crocs. The 3 friends all shared a love and interest in sailing, which is where they came across what inspired them to create Crocs. In the beginning of 2002, Seaman and Boedecker learned of a new boating clog which was produced by Foam Creations, Inc. located in Canada. The clog, which featured a closed-cell resin, subsequently “allowed the shoe to be lighter than traditional, rubber-soled boat shoes” and by it also molding to the wearers foot, “it was even less likely to cause slippage when on a wet boat deck” (Reference for Business, -----).
