nest was about 3 meters long which mean that the young dinosaur was several years old. Although they are old in comparison to other dinosaurs their age, their bones were undeveloped. Therefore, they needed extensive care. There was no vegetation around the nesting which means the parents must bring food back to the nest to feed their "hatchlings." A theory to why the dinosaur parental drive the response to the "cuteness" of the "hatchlings." The K-T extinction wiped out the majority of the non-avian dinosaurs, birds, and mammals. It killed many marine reptiles, flying reptiles, and many plantations. It was the mass extinction that wiped out the dinosaurs species. One hypothesis explained the caused of the extinction was by a meteoroid that hit earth. The impact of the meteorite increased volcanic activities and climate change that made it impossible for most living things to survive. The evidence for this event in a layer in the sedimentary rock calls the K-pg clay boundary. It is the layer between the Cretaceous and Tertiary period. The sediment level shows a high amount of metal iridium which is not abundant on earth but is abundant in asteroids. One evident for this hypothesis the shock quartz, a rock found in the Hell Creek Formation in Mexico. It was only ten kilometers away from the crater impact. The blaster compressed the rock from the crater impact. The shockwaves created the material and lines in the rock.…

in the Middle Triassic time period, during the recovery of life from the Permian-Triassic mass extinction (Benton et al. 2014). Transient episodes of unusually warm and wet conditions, interrupting long periods of cool and dry conditions, may have played a role in mass extinctions and long-term evolutionary trends (Retallack 2013). Although the Permo-Triassic mass extinction wiped out nearly 85% of species, the crises marked the beginning of the Mesozoic Era, a time period often associated with…

Did one single disaster cause the K-T extinctions? Some scientists and people are committed to just one reason the K-T extinctions occurred but in this paper many possibilities will be explored with evidence to back up why they could have been a cause as well to the extinctions. Everyone will ultimately make his or her own decision/thoughts on what could have happened, and of course all hypotheses would be subject to analysis. Asteroid impact theory. The impact of a 10 km+ asteroid would blow a…

volcanic eruptions (“What killed the dinosaurs?” n.d. para. 5). Because iridium is common in the Earth’s core, this supports the volcanism hypothesis. Iridium could have been brought to the surface by these explosive events, forming the high levels we now see in the sediment layer. In addition, there is evidence of lava flow, covering 200,000 square miles at depths of more than 6,500 feet in the Deccan region of India (“What killed the dinosaurs?” n.d. para. 4). Fractured crystals also seem to…

The extinction of the dinosaurs is one of the most well-known mysteries in our great world, the Earth has its history in the layers, these layers can tell us when, where, and how something happened, the K-T boundary is no exception. These large slabs of Earth can show us the past, millions of years of history, to the beginning. What scientists around the world are trying to figure out, is why the dinosaurs died out, there are many different and unique theories about the K-T extinction. Some…

The MIT and princeton researchers used high precision geochronology to determine the age of rocks on the so called deccan traps. To evaluate whether the extinction happened before or after the volcanic eruptions. The researchers collected more than 50 samples of rocks from that certain region in india to record data, Fortunately, samples from both the bottom and top of this volcanic layer contained zircon, allowing the team to pinpoint the timing of the beginning and end of the Deccan Traps…

Dinosaurs In The Jurassic Time Period By: David Wallace This project is going to be based on some of the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Time Period and it will give information about that dinosaur as well. Vertebrates taking to the air like the pterosaurs and the first birds. This was the Jurassic Period, 199.6 to 145.5 million years ago, a 54-million-year chunk of the Mesozoic Era. Air, land, or sea, dinosaurs came in all shapes and sizes in many different places around the world. The first…

Evaluating certain aspects of the theory’s within this research, the main focus will be not be on the factual cause of the extinction, but rather the circumstances, how one could play into the other; could have led to their extinction. This research will provide, compare and contrasts the theories of dinosaur ex-tinction during…

THEIR ARE MANY MANY THEORIES ON WHY THE DINOSAURS BECAME EXTINCT THE CAUSE OF THIS MASS EXTINCTION VARIES WIDELY. Some of those theories are that Years ago an asteroid crashed onto Earth’s surface. Mountains formed within minutes. In America, a tsunami hit covering plants and animals, under piles of rubble. Debrie was scattered, The planet was broken down and it stayed that way for years. But the most clear explanation to why the dinosaurs rapidly died out with the Mose scientific evedence is…

History of Earth shows that there are five major extinction events and the fifth extinction is the one that killed every dinosaur on the Earth surface as a result of an asteroid. Earth is now in the eve of sixth extinction as humanity has become the asteroid that would drive species to extinction even quickly than they should be.…
