However, on a car trip I threaded cereal onto the pipe cleaner and then secured it to the strainer-thus creating the toddler equivalent of a doggie Kong toy-and it kept him busy for 20 minutes! Or using toilet paper rolls taped to the wall to make pipes for dropping pom poms down into a bucket. -Cade was adamant that the toilet paper tubes did NOT go on the wall...but he played with the tape for OVER AN HOUR. All I had to do was rip off a piece of masking tape-he stuck it to the wall, peeled it off the wall, crumpled it into a ball-but mostly stuck it to the wall. The pompoms were completely ignored. Maybe when my sons get older they'll start enjoying both my cooking and craft time. But for now, we are nowhere near a Pinterest Perfect family, and that's ok by me.…
