The movie I decided to choose is “Couples Retreat” (Billingsley, 2009). The couple I choose from the movie is Jason and Cynthia. The reason I chose them is due to the fact that they are the couple that wanted to go to the couples retreat, Eden (Billingsley, 2009). When the couple first started talking to the other couples about the retreat in the beginning of the movie, they discussed the whole reason as to why they wanted to go to this retreat and why they needed the other couples to participate (Billingsley, 2009). Jason and Cynthia had been thinking about getting a divorce (Billingsley, 2009). Previously, Jason had suffered from testicular cancer, which had put a strain on the relationship (Billingsley, 2009). On top of that, the couple had been trying to have a child for several years and Cynthia was not able to conceive (Billingsley, 2009). After nine years of marriage, the couple started to question where they were both going in life, what they both wanted out of the relationship, and if the relationship was indeed the right fit (Billingsley, 2009). However, they were unable to afford it, unless they got the group package for four couples (Billingsley, 2009). The form of therapy I would choose to use with…

While these two writings are categorized in different groups, they share the comparable theme of limitations. It is a person’s civilized responsibility to, at all times, know their boundaries in…

just like the early centuries where living standards of boarding schools were poor and physical punishments were common. Much can be said about the school but even more can be said about the headmaster and his wife. They are rich which is seen from the way they present themselves: “Shoes old but expensive—Russell and Bromley. (…) She’s not gone to any particular trouble—that’s just what she’d wear anyway.” (p. 2 ll. 54-56). It’s obvious that the headmaster’s wife dresses to standards and it’s…
