The movie I decided to choose is “Couples Retreat” (Billingsley, 2009). The couple I choose from the movie is Jason and Cynthia. The reason I chose them is due to the fact that they are the couple that wanted to go to the couples retreat, Eden (Billingsley, 2009). When the couple first started talking to the other couples about the retreat in the beginning of the movie, they discussed the whole reason as to why they wanted to go to this retreat and why they needed the other couples to participate (Billingsley, 2009). Jason and Cynthia had been thinking about getting a divorce (Billingsley, 2009). Previously, Jason had suffered from testicular cancer, which had put a strain on the relationship (Billingsley, 2009). On top of that, the couple had been trying to have a child for several years and Cynthia was not able to conceive (Billingsley, 2009). After nine years of marriage, the couple started to question where they were both going in life, what they both wanted out of the relationship, and if the relationship was indeed the right fit (Billingsley, 2009). The couple really wanted to save their relationship, so they looked into the best program for couple’s therapy (Billingsley, 2009). However, they were unable to afford it, unless they got the group package for four couples (Billingsley, 2009). The form of therapy I would choose to use with…

off. Marisha never gave them back for a second review, at that point I realized that OI needed to make sure that I was covered so I began emailing myself the errors that I would find and give back to Marisha, so if anything else came back and Jackie needed to address it I would be covered in knowing that I asked that the error or errors would be corrected. I never documented this information as a way to get my co worker in trouble that is why I never gave the information regarding the errors…

An Analysis of Cinematography and Sound in the Explosion Scene From ’71 (2015) Dir. Yann Demange ‘‘71’ is a film about a young soldier, Gary Hook, who gets stranded in Belfast in 1971 during the Troubles. He accidentally becomes the target for all parties involved and the complexity of the good and the bad in the Troubles become apparent. “ Malachi, get back to work.” Joel said, his voice stern as always. I flinched at the sound of his voice and quickly got back to reading my government book. This week has been especially hard for me to stay focused as it has only brought back memories of my past. It brought back memories of the things I promised myself I would not ever think about again. The pain I felt, it was just unbearable. But I knew I could not show it or else,... or else suspicion would start to arise, and that would…

As a result, this means that although the Troubles are a good case study for diasporic involvement in the late 20th century, a case study is needed for the 21st century to truly analyze the effect of globalization on diasporic participation. A modern group that exemplifies this is the Islamic State (ISIL or ISIS). ISIS is a nationalistic group of sorts as its goal is to create a state with theocratic, religious role of the dark ages in the Middle East. The reason though that ISIS has been able…

This morning’s discussion with the former Lord Mayor put Derry much more into perspective for someone who is an outsider and is not educated well on The Troubles or Irish politics, past and present. In comparison to the current antics of American politics, Ireland and those a part of the United Kingdom are facing similar topics, though on a different scale. One of the most prevalent issues the former Lord Mayor talked about were gender rights, branching off briefly on women’s rights to abortions…

including the process of making the album itself which was very strenuous, as described partially in many of its songs, including the aforementioned, Paper Planes. An example of this would be from the lyrics ,“I fly like paper get high like planes, If you catch me on the border I got visas in my name”. These lyrics describe M.I.A.’s troubles with creating the album, as she could not stay in America to record the songs, as her work Visa was not long term. Instead, she actually traveled throughout…
