The 2016 Fall CSULB Dance in concert took place at the Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theater on November 17, 2016, at eight o’clock. It was a collection of different dance pieces. The first Horn Concerto, Op. 11, by Richard Strauss is one of the most notorious pieces in horn literature. The concerto was written in 1882 and is a standard example of the Romantic era. Strauss created both the piano and orchestral versions, with the orchestra score calling for solo horn, two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, two horns, two trumpets, timpani, and strings (Steinberg). The event that i am reviewing is the Handel’s Messiah concert performed by The Milwaukee area Messiah community chorus and orchestra. Performed In Mequon, WI, 4 soloists including a large Chorus and Baroque style orchestra performed.
