Objective: In this laboratory experiment three objectives were sought after. These objectives were to first, create a separation scheme. Second, perform basic biochemical qualitative analytical tests. Lastly, identify the major components of milk. Introduction: The three goals in this experiment were desirable due to the fact that it gave knowledge on what is actually digested when milk is consumed. This is notably important to the children and adults that are lactose intolerant. 1 Many…
Objective The objective of the experiment was to determine the purity and components of a mixture of fluorescein and bromonitroindoline, as well as separate them, through the process of thin layer chromatography. Procedure Part A- Separation of Compounds by Thin Layer Chromatography • Three 100 mL beakers and watch glasses were cleaned in preparation for this experiment. Three silica gel plates were acquired from the instructor, and to each plate a line was drawn 5 mm from the edge of the…
According to Chemguide, Chromatography is a physical method that is used to separate a mixture of chemical substances into its components, which then can be closely analyzed. All forms of chromatography share this same principle. Here, a mobile phase travels through a stationary phase, carrying the components of the mixture with it. It is possible that the mobile phase and the stationary phase have similarities or differences that affect the overall interaction between each other and the…
Purpose The purpose of this lab was to separate unknown compound 204, composed of an amine, a carboxylic acid, and a neutral component, into each of its three respective states. The unknown compound was separated using microscale separation of acidic, basic, and neutral components by liquid/liquid extraction. Liquid/liquid extraction is a very common method often used in work-ups and allows for isolation of neutral components using acid/base chemistry; this method is extremely helpful in…
Tempkin isotherm contains a factor that explicitly takes into account adsorbing species-adsorbate interactions . This isotherm assumes that the heat of adsorption of all molecules in the layer decreases linearly with coverage due to adsorbate-adsorbate interaction and adsorption was characterized by a uniform distribution of binding energies, up to some maximum binding energy. Tempkin isotherm has generally been used in the linearized and rearranged form as following:…
Abstract: A simple, novel, and sensitive method developed for estimation of Dappagliflozin and Saxagliptin. The method was carried out on reverse- phase C18 inertsil column, with mixture of Methanol: Water ( 80:20) ratio as a mobile phase, 1 ml / min flow rate. Different analytical parameters such as linearity, precision, accuracy, Limit of detection (LOD), Limit of Quantification (LOQ), robustness were determined according to the International conference on Harmonization ICH guidelines. The…
Analytical Method Validation of Sylimarin The λmax of Sylimarin in ethyl alcohol and PBS was found to be 286 nm and 322nm, respectively. The drug follows linearity in the concentration range 2–20 μg/ml with a correlation coefficient value of 0.998 and 0.999 for in ethyl alcohol and PBS, respectively. The accuracy of the method was checked by recovery. The % recovery was found to be in the range of 99.54– 100.98% in ethyl alcohol and 98.94– 101.4% in PBS, respectively. The precision of the…

Ali Youssef CHM 111-0A7L Mitra Jahangeri Paper Chromatography Lab Discussion The results of the Paper Chromatography process seem to have aligned with what was expected. When the capillary action on the paper had completed and the chromatograph was finished, the distance that each cation moved (D), as well as the distance that the solvent moved (L), could be properly measured. The distance that the solvent moved ended up being 7.05cm, a number that would represent the constant variable L in…
