Most people have heard of Pretty Little Liars before, and if not, a brief summary of the book is a girl disappears and then her friends start getting text messages from somebody named A, that threatens to tell all of their secrets basically. But a book that people probably don’t recognize as much is Ali’s Pretty Little Lies, is the prequel to Pretty Little Liars. It’s about what happened before Alison Dilaurentis(girl who disappears) was murdered in the first PLL book. Ali’s Pretty Little Lies was written by Sara Shepard, who also wrote The Lying game series. This book is realistic fiction, because it could happen in real life but it’s still made up. It’s has romance and suspense in it, which makes it compelling and very interesting to read. The story takes place in Rosewood, Pennsylvania. The main characters are Courtney and Alison Dilaurentis, both are twins.Other main characters are, Hannah who has dyed dark auburn hair and brown eyes, then there’s Aria who also has dyed dark auburn hair and brown eyes, next there’s Emily who has strawberry blond hair and blue eyes, last but not least there’s Spencer who has blonde-haired and blue-eyed. There are other characters in the story but they’re not as important in this book and the PLL series, such as Jason(the twins brother), Jenna, Ian, Melissa, etc. As children Alison and Courtney Dilaurentis were like best friend but as they got older it’s like something clicked that made them fight and be mean to each other. The…

In the master bedroom, “There stood, facing the open window, a comfortable, roomy armchair. Into this she sank, pressed down by a physical exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul (115).” The narrator expresses Mrs. Mallard’s chronic repression pointing out that she “sank, pressed down” into the chair from “exhaustion” and from being “haunted.” Exhaustion, to use up or consume completely, indicates that marriage has taken its toll over the years. To be haunted is to…

Rosellini’s Portrayal of Marina as Everywoman, Ingrid As A Wicked Temptress, In Rome, Open City Roberto Rossellini’s neorealist film, Rome Open City, is reflective of the turbulent climate in Italy during Nazi and Fascist occupation in World War II. His use of costuming, body language, and mirror shots give rise to a tongue-in-cheek reflection at all the difficult moral and economic sacrifices people had to make during the war.
